Bio
Mo Bone is a multidisciplinary artist from New York City working in painting, drawing, collage, and sculpture. His work explores the transition from innocence to adolescence, with a focus on American boyhood, masculinity, and the mythology of the United States as a “young nation.” Drawing heavily from childhood memories and family references, Bone embraces the idea that all art is, inescapably, self-portrait.
The themes and characters in his work create a collision of immaturity and sincerity, fantasy and critique. His work balances the allure of a creature feature with a deeper investigation into cultural identity and performance within gender and familial roles.
Bone studied Fine Art Sculpture at Pratt Institute with double minors in Sustainability and Photography. After college, he founded a custom furniture business designing pieces for New York apartments and businesses. He has exhibited at The Blue Gallery in Midtown and regularly organizes his own immersive art events, complete with live music and large-scale installations.
Mo Bone’s practice is a playful, critical celebration of what it means to grow up in America—where fantasy collides with reality, and where abundance wrestles with authenticity.
